Advantages Of HD-DVD Vs Blu-Ray

According to an article excerpt by Don Lindich, there are a few advantages of HD-DVD over Blu-Ray. They are:

1)Additional features such as mandatory pictures in picture decoders and web interactivity. Thus, it is possible to see behind the scenes pictures and commentary even when the main movie is unreeling. Fresh content can also be downloaded via an Ethernet web connection.

2)Web-Interactivity BD-Live is also not on any Blu-Ray Players as of now. However, such features were already present since HD-DVD was established.

3)Blu-ray features such as lossless compression and additional capacity does not hold well with Steven Kelly since, a slight difference in audio quality is hard to detect.

Steven Kelly believes that HD-DVD will triumph over Blu-Ray.

Technology News: Blu-Ray Vs HD-DVD

The end of this week is "Black Friday" and the watchful battle between Blu-Ray and HD-DVD. News report that sales on both sides have dropped to 10% below their expected sales.

Blu-ray has embarked on a two for one sale in which a total of 112 movies can be purchased at 50% off. This is expected to drive the sale of Blu-Ray discs up. Needless to say, revenues is expected to increase only if the less cost is compensated by an increase in volume.

Wal-mart is counter attacking by pricing HD-DVD below $200. Since, Wal-Mart is a super giant, sales are expected to soar. This happened with the sale of TV a previous year ago. If so, HD-DVD will clearly triumph Blu-Ray.

It all remains to be seen.
